Q: Where can I get training on RevCom?

Q: Can Contractors submit comments?
A: Yes, Contractors are encouraged to submit comments through their DOE Directives Point of Contact. (See DPC listing.)
Q: Can the DPC edit subject matter experts' comments?
A: Yes, they must edit subject matter experts' comments to make them reflect their Secretarial Officer's or designee's views. They are encouraged to clarify all comments.
Q: If a directive does not apply to my organization, do we have to supply comments?
A: No, you do not have to supply comments. However, you have to click the "No Comment" button.
Q: How do I get an extension on my due date?
A: If you are a DPC, contact the writer to request an extension. If you are a writer, contact the responsible MA-90 analyst. Extending due dates are for special or rare circumstances.
Q: What is an unauthorized (rogue) directive?
A: A document that resembles or meets the definition of a directive, but has not been coordinated through the Directives Program and therefore does not appear on the Directives Portal.
Q: Can the public submit comments?
A: Yes. However, they will have to select an organization to which they belong, and the Headquarters DPC's Secretarial Officer or designee may choose to leave them out when submitting the comment package.
Q: Can I see other organization's comments?
A: Yes. When the DPC submits the comment package.
Q: Is there a process for dealing with unresolved comments?
A: Yes. MA-90 elevates the unresolved comments to senior management for resolution.
Q: How long does it take for a directive to be processed and approved?
A: We have four different processing tracks. A directive can take 30, 60, 90, or 120 days to be approved unless there is a unresolved comment (Impasse).
